Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, it was based on the lives of drug kingpin Dawood Ibrahim and his gang. The film was shot in the cities of Mumbai and Delhi. Plot Two brothers, Karan and Amit (Anupam Kher), run a successful business in the narcotics trade in India. They are the front men for an international cartel run by Dawood Ibrahim (Govind Namdev) and his gang. While the Indian police have little idea of their activities, the FBI have serious evidence of their involvement in the trafficking of heroin from Afghanistan. The brothers plan to eliminate Dawood Ibrahim and his henchman Kaka. They are to kill Kaka's family in India and ship them to the United States for disposal. The job falls to Balbir (Shahid Kapoor), one of Karan and Amit's proteges. He turns out to be an over-confident psychopath with no moral scruples. The brothers pick up a girl, Priya, as a courier for them. In time, they decide to kill her as well because she is walking in on their operation. They kill her along with her friend Rachna (Kareena Kapoor) in an apartment in New York's Chinatown. Priya was so annoyed by the deaths that she hangs herself. Karan and Amit have to find a new courier. They find a young American couple, Tracy (Esha Koppikar) and Aaron (Upen Patel), a music student who have come to India to do research on Indian culture. They take Tracy under their wing to lure her into their web. They use her to run a "smart" methadone delivery system. Dawood comes to India to meet his in-laws. Amit tells him that his brother Karan has killed Kaka's family. Dawood has a heart attack and dies. The next day, Karan kills Amit with a remote control bomb. Karan promises Tracy and Aaron that he will make things even for them. Karan and Tracy go to the border with Afghanistan and arrange for the return of the drug supply to the States.
